Delta Police Investigate Sexual Assault

Delta Police Department British Columbia BCSgt. Sharlene Brooks - On July 21 2010 at approximately 5:20 p.m. Delta Police responded to a report of a sexual assault. Complainant reported that she was walking in the 7800 blk 112th at approximately 4:30 p.m. with a friend when a male came up behind her grabbing her buttocks then fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as, Caucasian, 5’8-5’10, 17-18 yrs old slender build, clean cut wearing a light colored short sleeve shirt and black shorts. The complainant did the right thing by screaming and drawing attention to herself and running to an open area. Fortunately she was not physically injured.

Police remind the public to;

  • Be familiar with surroundings
  • Walk in high pedestrian/vehicle areas
  • Draw attention to yourself if approached by a stranger and
  • Report incidents to police as soon as possible.

Delta Police continue to investigate this incident.
