Delta Police still have no suspects in yesterdays midday shooting in Tsawwassen. Police were called to the 5200 block of 12th Avenue after receiving a 911 call of a single gunshot. Upon arrival the DPD cordoned off the block and began searching for suspects and canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses. It is unknown whether the shot that penetrated the window of a house came from a group of people walking past or if it was a drive by shooting. Early reports support the latter.
Some residents of the area are in disbelief that this type of crime could take place in their neighbourhood. "I can't remember anything like this happening in Tsawwassen.", said one concerned neighbour. "It makes you worry. If this could happen here it could happen anywhere. I just really hope that this isn't a random act. That would really scare me."
The DPD responded quickly to the incident deploying K-9 units and patrol officers. A forensic team was brought in to examine the scene of the crime and gather evidence. Although no one was injured in the attack, the police are taking this investigation very seriously.
